Details
This vintage Japanese hand‑carved wooden crumb sweeper features intricate carvings of bamboo leaves along with two Chinese characters traditionally associated with good fortune and long life. These wooden silent butlers were commonly produced in Japan during the 1950s and 1960s, and this one carries the warmth and character of that era. The tray is carved from wood with a smooth, aged finish and a gently curved form. It has been lightly cleaned but left authentically used, preserving its original patina and hand‑carved details. Measuring approximately 8 inches by 6 inches, it’s a functional piece of folk art with a story. Each tray comes with your choice of a handmade crumb brush, crafted in Rhode Island by Brooms by Jenza using traditional broom‑making techniques. For this listing, both brushes are made in the Hawk Tail Whisk style, offered in two rich red tones: • Red Hawk Tail Whisk • Deep Red Hawk Tail Whisk Both brushes include a small length of hanging twine. You can leave it on for knot magick, intention‑setting, or simple display — or trim it off if you prefer a cleaner look. This set blends mid‑century Japanese craft, hand‑carved symbolism, and modern broom‑making tradition, turning a simple act of tidying into something beautiful and meaningful.
